The automated workplace 'Mezha' (AWP) is intended for use in complex information security systems (ISS), in information telecommunication systems, or as the gateway for interaction between physically separated information systems that process data with different levels of confidentiality (e.g., public network - Internet and corporate network - Intranet). It can as well be used for creation of specialized multifunction workstations with shared processing of data.
AWP 'Mezha' is supposed to be connected to 2 separate local networks, and uses session mode of work. That means that at a specific time Mezha could only be connected to one of the networks.
Loading the operating system (OS) and applications for each session is done from different hard drives. Access to the hard drive which is not used in the current session is impossible, either by means of BIOS, operating system or applications.
'Mezha' makes it impossible to gain unauthorized access to the confidential data from outside of the network, and prevents viruses from getting inside the network.
