Year after year, businesses and government agencies face incidents in the area of information technology and information security more and more often. Leaks of information, Security breaches, frauds with electronic means of payment, theft of confidential information and destruction of electronic documents lead to significant losses and pose a real threat to organizations. Investigations of such incidents are considered to be one of the world's greatest challenges that corporate security and law enforcement authorities are facing.
In Ukraine there is a number of objective and subjective factors that impede effective fight against computer crimes. First and foremost, this is a lack of awareness about existing technologies and solutions used when investigating such incidents, lack of qualified specialists, gaps in the regulatory framework, and others.
On September 30, 2010, EPOS will hold a FREE all-Ukrainian Theoretical and Practical Seminar «Computer Forensics Ukraine 2010», dedicated to problems of Computer forensics, Technologies for data recovery and data destruction. The event is sponsored by the Institute for Information Registration of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Samsung corporation, radio Europa FM, TM «Stella Artois». The seminar will bring together leading Ukrainian experts to discuss current problems in Ukraine about fighting crimes in the area of computer information. At the seminar, the world's best methods and technical solutions in this area will be presented.
Considerable attention at the seminar will be given to practical issues and to sharing experiences. Technology and solutions for investigation of IT incidents that are available in Ukraine will be presented, as well as for data recovery and data destruction. EPOS Data recovery specialists will hold a master class and demonstrate hardware and software.
